Madison Square Church Fragments Located

As reported in the New York Times, architectural historians have finally finished tracking down the fragments of the short-lived Madison Square Presbyterian Church, a Palladian building designed by Stanford White and opened on 24th Street in 1906 only to be razed in 1919 to make way for insurance offices. Ever since, architects, historians and preservationists have been searching for fragments of this short-lived piece of New York history. A paper trail having survived mostly due to public outcry, pieces have been located all over the country such as the beautiful archway above found in storage in the Brooklyn Museum and the Tiffany’s windows found illuminating a wedding chapel in California.
