NYC-ARTS has put together a detailed list of the NYC museums offering free – or pay-what-you-wish admission. You may not be able to wish the weather away, but it is comforting that when it’s punishing, you can duck into any of the museums on that list and experience culture, at low – or even no – cost.

Always offering pay-what-you-wish, Brooklyn Museum has a number of exciting exhibits to see, such as: ” Who Shot Sports“, “Double-Take: African Innovations” and “Ancient Egyptian Art”

The Morgan Library & Museum offers free Friday evenings – from 7pm-9pm.
Current exhibits to see: “Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol'” and “Charlotte Brontë: An Independent Will”

On Thursdays, from 6pm – 9pm, pay-what-you-wish to see current exhibits that document contemporary and historic innovation in craft, art, and design, such as: “Crochet Coral Reef: Toxic Seas” and “Coille Hooven“.
